Kinship Diagrams

Hello there people,

I need a little help and knowledge from all of you.
I'm in the last year of anthropology in the university. Right now, I need to register one life history or a family history. The problem is that I need to make a kinship diagram. I do not want to make it by hand [cause it stays awful], but using software. Most of the software that I found until now it only builds family trees, without the symbols that we need to use to make a diagram kinship. Friends told me about Genopro, but it seems that the free version of it only makes a diagram with 25 people. I need a diagram, at least, 50/60 people with all the symbols. So, my question is: does anyone now a good and easy software to make a diagram kinship?

Ups, sorry. I didn't tell that info.
Windows xp or the oldie 98.

Last time I did this for a class I used Microsoft Word and Paint together; make the symbols in paint, and then the glories of copy and paste. I thought it was pretty easy.

You may want to check out the free program Personal Ancestral File (PAF) available at http://www.familysearch.org/ENG/default.asp and then the Companion, cost $10. also available there. PAF will not create the chart so you would have to check out PAF, but it says it can do that (I'm not sure it can - genealogy and anthropology use the same terms with slightly different meanings).

I think it depends on if you have the $10 to possibly get what you need, and they having to do it by hand anyway.

Good luck!

It isn't a program and I'm not sure how much this'll help you, but I used http://geni.com/ to help organize stuff when I did mine.

Try www.inspiration.com. There is a free 10 day trial and my guess is that it will do exactly what you'd like it to do. I use it in my classroom all the time and *love* it.
